Actually, Hayek and Keynes did debate, formally and informally. Keyenes swept the floor with Hayek. I have not seen the debates or transcripts, but they are discussed in the excellent *How Markets Fail*, by John Cassidy.

Amusing exchange. Has me wondering: If Keynes had never bothered to engage him, would Hayek have disappeared in obscurity?
